World Photography Day, also known as World Photo Day, is celebrated on August 19. It is a community focused global celebration of photography launched in 2009 by Australian photographer Korske Ara.
The date of August 19 was chosen to commemorate the invention of the daguerreotype process, which was the first publicly announced photographic process. Daguerreotypy was invented by French artist and chemist Louis Jacques-Mandé Daguerre in the early 1830s. He used a camera obscura to capture images onto copper plates coated with iodized silver.
Developing the passion of photography integrated Indian school conducted photography contest for students and teachers on 19th August 2017.students from different classes participated in the contest. and the photos were kept for exhibition
