Tiny Steps, Big Dreams-Distant Horizons at IIS Kindergarten Graduation
In a whimsical celebration of knowledge, growth, and boundless imagination, Integrated Indian School celebrated Kindergarten’s ‘Graduation Day’ on Wednesday, 21st February, 2024. The day unfolded under the enchanting theme of ‘Distant Horizons’.
The dignitaries to grace the occasion were Mrs. Bushra Al Abdul Hussain Inspector of Educational Affairs, Mrs. Mariam Dashti Head of Department in the Private Ministry of Education and our sponsor Mr. Jaber Al Anezi. Following the lighting of the lamp, was the welcome dance that not only marked the beginning of the ceremony but also served as a rhythmic prelude, inviting everyone to join in the jubilation of this momentous day.
A warm welcome speech was delivered by the school principal Mrs. Ritu Mathur who extended gratitude to parents, teachers and the little graduates. The principal emphasized the significance of this milestone in the young learners’ lives and expressed pride in their growth, both academically and emotionally, throughout their kindergarten journey. The ceremony was not only a milestone for the graduates but also an occasion to express gratitude and extend warm felicitations to the distinguished guests who graced the event.
The stage then came alive with vibrant cultural expressions through the mesmerizing performances of ‘Matsuri Madness’ a Japanese dance and ‘Yalla Habibi’, an Arabic dance. These captivating dance routines added a unique flavour to the ceremony thus celebrating cultural diversity.
The graduation ceremony then commenced with a procession of the graduates, each donned in miniature caps and gowns, evoking smiles from proud parents and teachers alike. The place buzzed with anticipation as the young graduates took center stage, ready to receive their well-deserved recognition.
This year went beyond the conventional, incorporating elements of a fashion show ‘Kaleidoscope’ where the uniqueness of each culture celebrated the interconnectedness of the global community. The fashion show transcended rich clothing styles worn around the world. Diverse cultures and fashion trends created a kaleidoscope of garments that reflected the global essence of couture. ‘Feel the curiosity’ was a dance routine that incorporated vibrant colors, playful movements, and engaging music to create an enchanting atmosphere. The tunes resonated with the energetic spirit of young performers, enhancing the overall vibrancy of the dance.
The ceremony transformed into a magical spectacle with the captivating rendition of ‘The Little Mermaid’ skit, casting a spell of wonder over the audience. This performance provided a delightful and memorable experience for the kindergartners and their families. The visual appeal of the play was heightened by fascinating costumes and imaginative set designs. Colourful and elaborate mermaids, sea creature costumes, and underwater themed props transported the audience into anenigmatic underwater world. ‘Dream in Your Feet’ a Bangla dance performance encapsulated the spirit, culture, and artistic heritage of Bangladesh. This dance, deeply rooted in
traditional Bangladeshi movements and expressions, offered a compelling portrayal of dreams and emotions through the rhythmic language of the feet.
The vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal Mrs. Husena Ali Asgar, a moment that served as an opportunity to express gratitude to the various individuals and groups who played pivotal roles in making this event a memorable success. The Vice Principal began by acknowledging the parents, emphasizing their crucial role in the educational journey of the kindergarten graduates. With sincerity, the Vice Principal expressed appreciation for the trust and support extended by the parents, highlighting their commitment to the development and well-being of their children. Emphasizing the importance of the milestone they had reached; the Vice Principal encouraged the young graduates to carry the love and encouragement of their educators and parents with them as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey.
Lastly, the ‘Punjabi Bhangra’ marked the grand finale of the ceremony. The performers dazzled in traditional attire, featuring vibrant and eye-catching colours. The costumes not only reflected the cultural significance of bhangra but also contributed to the festive ambiance. This performance not only showcased talent, but also celebrated the cultural diversity that enriches the educational experience at Integrated Indian School.
