Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, also known as the Clean India Campaign, is a national movement aimed at promoting cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across the country. Our school actively participated in this initiative during the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Week, which took place from 22nd October 2023 to 26th October 2023. These activities are integral in instilling a sense of responsibility, fostering awareness, and creating a lasting impact on individuals and communities. They embody the spirit of unity and shared determination to build a cleaner and healthier India.
Activities Conducted:
22nd October 2023
1.Picture Coloring: Students from LKG, UKG, grades 1 and 2 participated in a picture coloring competition that aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. The children were encouraged by the teachers to visualize a cleaner and more beautiful India, free from litter and pollution.
2.Slogan Writing: The creative minds of our students were put to the test as they came up with catchy slogans promoting cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat mission. This activity was conducted with students from grades 3, 4 and 5. Through slogan writing, these young minds internalized the values of responsibility and civic duty.
3.Poster Making: Artistic talents flourished as students from grades 6, 7 and 8 created eye-catching posters with powerful messages about cleanliness and sanitation. This activity provided them with a platform to unleash their imagination and channel their thoughts and feelings about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan onto paper.
4. Poem and Essay Writing: A literary touch was added to the campaign as students from grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 composed poems and essays to express their thoughts and creativity in Hindi, Bangla, French and Urdu while promoting the ideals of cleanliness and hygiene embodied in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Cleanliness Campaign- Cleaning the School Campus and Classrooms: Students and staff actively engaged in cleaning different areas of the school campus. This activity goes beyond just tidying up the premises. They are valuable educational experiences that teach students about hygiene, responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of a clean environment.

Choral Recitation in English, Hindi, Urdu and Bangla: A cultural celebration took place with choral recitations in English, Hindi, Urdu, French and Bangla by students from classes 1 to 5. This activity not only imparts essential lessons about cleanliness and hygiene but also fosters a sense of unity and responsibility. Through this art form, students are not just reciting verses; they are actively contributing to the vision of a cleaner and healthier India.

Special Assembly with Gandhiji: A special assembly was conducted with a message from the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. His words which resonate even today, emphasized the importance of cleanliness as a fundamental virtue. Gandhiji’s vision for a cleaner India served as a powerful reminder of the enduring relevance of Swachh Baharat Abhiyan.
Street Play: A compelling Hindi Street play was presented by our talented students; the play depicted the various ways in which individuals can contribute to a cleaner India. The play portrayed the daily challenges and dilemmas faced by people in maintaining cleanliness and offered practical solutions for overcoming them.
Pledge: The students and staff took a solemn pledge to uphold the values of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The pledge led by our school principal, underlined our commitment to cleaner and healthier India. The words of the pledge were a reflection of our collective responsibility to maintain cleanliness in our school, our homes and our nation. It served as a declaration of our dedication to the cause.

Menstruation Talk Show: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, encompasses not just physical cleanliness but also the promotion of health and hygiene. In line with this objective, a special show on menstruation was conducted. The show was carefully designed to be informative. It covered a range of topics, including the biology of menstruation, menstrual hygiene practices, and the emotional and psychological aspects of this natural process. The students were also informed about the proper disposal of menstrual waste, highlighting the connection between menstrual hygiene and the broader Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Conclusion:
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Week in the school was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on our students. These activities have sown the seeds of change. The values of cleanliness, hygiene, and community responsibility have taken root in the hearts and minds of the students.
